Claire Sunwoo Jeong began her musical studies in composition, then studied conducting at the Korea National University of Arts under Chiyong Chung. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in orchestral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin under Markus Stenz.

She reached the main rounds of the 2026 La Maestra and the 2024 Tokyo International Conducting Competition, and was selected for the 2026 Korea National Symphony Orchestra’s Conductor Workshop and 2023 Korea Conductors Association Conducting Camp. She served as assistant conductor for the KNUA production of Mozart’s <Don Giovanni> and has worked with orchestras including Academia Classica KNUA and the KNUA Orchestra. Recently, she has assisted Markus Stenz in his work with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, continuing to broaden her experience abroad. She has also been involved in a number of musical theater productions in Korea.

Regarded by Markus Stenz and Johannes Schläfli as having natural musicality and artistic instinct, Sunwoo Jeong continually searches for the most beautiful sound within the flow of the music, seeking to bring its resonance and emotion to the audience.
